The central purpose of ICAN Missouri Foundation is to provide our citizens who have developmental disabilities with the advocacy and supports needed to work, play, worship, learn, and live as a valued member of our community and as an integral part of their families.
We are ICAN Missouri Foundation. ICAN is a 501(c)(3) not for profit agency dedicated to serving people who have developmental disabilities in Randolph County, Missouri. We also provide limited services in Chariton County, Missouri. ICAN came into existence on January 1, 2013, as a way to unite two existing agencies, Randolph County Sheltered Industries and Randolph County Developmental Disability Services. We are blessed to have three Boards of Directors that oversee our various activities and funding sources. We are funded partially by a property tax known as Senate Bill 40. We are also funded by the Missouri Department of Mental Health, Missouri HealthNet (aka Medicaid), Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, and by various grants and donations. The Senate Bill 40 tax levy in Randolph County generates a little over $650,000 in income, but we are able to ‘draw down’ state and federal money to turn that levy in to more than $3 million in our 2016 budget.
ICAN provides and/or funds services and supports to insure that people who have developmental disabilities have the same opportunities as people without disabilities to live a full and rewarding life.
Please feel free to explore our website and see for yourself the wonderful things that are happening in our community. It takes a village to raise a child, and that is especially true
for people who have disabilities. Thank you all for your support.
